Said to have evoked the Devine, the Jonathan Simkhai Fall Winter 2017 collection premiere is still a voice of feminine reform—long after the snow-burdened streets of New York Fashion Week melted into season’s past.
The elaborate lace, flowing chiffon, and incomparable embroidery boasts of romance—but this collection springs beyond femininity as a delicacy. Instead, Simkhai sought to craft a form that would embody women as an infallible force to be reckon with, illuminating beauty with an ordained sense of power.
And Simkhai dressed more than just the models in his message; garnishing each seat with a “Feminist AF” T-shirt, and a magnet reminding us that fashion stands with Planned Parenthood—as should we all.
